Stress (dietary, structural, mental, emotional, physical) is 100% responsible for your symptoms of discomfort. Most symptoms you experience (even structural imbalances) have a connection to your dietary and lifestyle choices. Your dietary choices are 80% responsible for how well your body functions. When your bodily systems are congested, overburdened, and stressed due to poor dietary and lifestyle habits, accumulation of waste and toxins is inevitable. When the body is toxic, you can experience a variety of undesirable symptoms. Cleansing your colon removes excess waste and strengthens its peristaltic rhythm, all of which support and facilitate maintenance of optimal health through daily elimination.
Colonics is a combination of water therapy and abdominal massage applied to the large intestine with the purpose of:
- reducing stored toxicity in the body
- strengthening the colon muscle
- improving elimination
“As I was healing from Heavy Metal Poisoning the colonic treatments greatly helped pull the parasites and yeast from my body.” - LeAnne R.
Here Are Some Questions We Often Hear
Is a colonic treatment safe?
Yes, colonics are safe. We use a disposable proctoscope and tubing so there is no chance of cross contamination between clients. We use a gravity-fed colonic system and a properly trained and certified colon therapist is overseeing your entire colonic session.
Is the colonic going to hurt? And will I feel crappy afterwards?
Your individual experience during and after your colonic session will be determined by how often you have bowel movements; what the condition of your digestive, detoxification, and elimination systems are; and what symptoms of toxicity you are currently experiencing. You may experience more pressure and some level of discomfort during your colonic session if you are constipated and experiencing a lot of bloating and gas. Your colonic therapy session will help address these underlying imbalances.
During Your Therapy Session
We will begin your session with a quick question and answer to determine what is going on and where the problem areas are in your body. Sometimes unrelated symptoms give us clues about what is going in the physical body now, so be sure to give an honest account of all symptoms even if they don’t appear to be related to what’s got your attention in the present moment. The other purpose of the Q/A is to determine if you have sensitivities and to familiarize you with the routine so that you can let go and relax. Your comfort is our first priority, so please take this time to ask any questions or give us any feedback.
Your colonic session will take place in the therapy room after you’ve undressed from the waist down, you’re settled on the colonic table, and covered by a large bath towel providing the utmost privacy. We will preserve your modesty at all times throughout your colonic session.
We will begin your session with you lying on your back so that your therapist can perform a few minutes of Core Synchronism to relax you and to balance the large intestine. Flower Remedies and Essential Oils may also be given to you (either orally or applied to the abdomen) at the beginning of your session to help compliment the effects of your release.
You will then be instructed to roll onto your left side, so that your therapist can insert the colonic proctoscope into your rectum. Once inserted, your therapist will open the filtered water tube to begin introducing warm water into your colon. After a short time, you will be instructed to turn onto your back for the remainder of your colonic session. Near the end of your session you will be instructed to move back to your left side.
The session will be comprised of your therapist using several fills and releases of filtered water as well as light massage on the abdomen to help dislodge fecal matter as the water moves through the colon to help flush out toxic poisons, gas, accumulated fecal matter, and mucous deposits. As this happens, your dislodged fecal matter is washed away through the system’s waste disposal hose. Pressure and temperature of the water is varied to stimulate muscular contraction of your colon. A tolerance test will be performed to determine the tone of your colon muscle.
Your therapy session will be comprised of the techniques that your practitioner feels will best facilitate the release of stored waste and toxins. The goal of each colonic session is for the client to experience a cleansing of the cecum (the area that connects the small intestines to the large intestine), also known as a cecum dump. Depending on the condition of the large intestine, this could take more than one session. We allow a 60-minute colonic session, but most sessions take about 45 minutes. If the cecum dumps earlier, the session is shortened accordingly.
You may feel some discomfort during your session but this is only to get the colon to release accumulated waste and toxins. Even if discomfort is felt, we will work within a level that is comfortably tolerable to you, based on your feedback throughout the session. Once waste is released, any pain felt should be alleviated.
What if I have to pee during the colonic?
You will not be able to pee during your the colonic session, so we encourage you to use the restroom facilities before we begin. If we stop a colonic session for any reason it cannot be restarted. For safety of the client, once a colonic has ended, the therapist must do appropriate cleanup of the equipment and room before a new colonic can take place.
What if I have to have a bowel movement?
You will be able to release your bowels during the colonic session. Sometimes, when you are releasing old fecal matter it’s not uncommon to experience variations of pressure or a sense of urgency to eliminate which we will monitor very closely and make adjustments as needed to support your comfort level. If the discomfort gets to be too much, we will stop the colonic session so you can evacuate in the restroom facility. However, this will end your colonic session. Providing there is enough time, we can attempt to repeat the procedure.
Once again, we preserve your modesty at all times during your colonic session.
After Your Therapy Session
Generally, when you get off the table you will want to use the restroom facility to evacuate any remaining water left in your colon. Your therapist will leave the colonic room so that you have the privacy to get dressed or you can take your clothes with you to the restroom. You may feel the urge to evacuate a few times within the first 5-10 minutes following your colonic session, so we encourage you to hang out at our office space until this sensation passes. This is totally natural and there is no need for alarm. Once you have expelled any excess water from your body, the need to evacuate will subside.
Many clients notice immediate improvement in the way they feel, but noticeable improvements are not always experienced by the end of a colonic session. When you have a high toxicity level, you may feel unpleasant symptoms more intensely as toxins are released into your bloodstream to make their way to the elimination channels of your body. In such cases, a series of colonic sessions spaced over an extended period of time would be very beneficial to you.
To effect the best possible integration of your colonic session, try to schedule your colonic at least an hour away from any meal consumed, and eat lighter meals the day of your colonic session. Be sure to boost your consumption of purified water for the remainder of the day. This helps flush toxins from your body.
Although not required, honor your body by resting immediately following your therapy session. Leaving your superhero cape off for the remainder of the day is one of the most supportive choices you can make to facilitate change and improvement.
Will this colonic session heal my colon?
Detoxification is never a one-step process. Digestion and detoxification problems are usually seen together because they use the same pathways in the body. Although the lymph system plays a huge component in your detoxification process, colonics specifically address the large intestine’s channel of elimination. The goal of each colonic session is to remove excess waste and stored toxicity and to strengthen and tone your colon muscle to support optimal elimination. We can perform a tolerance test to determine the state of your colon muscle, but we cannot guarantee how long your detoxification process will take or how many colonic sessions it will take to improve elimination.
Your colonic therapist is not a healer. We hold the view that healing is an inside job and it is accomplished by your individual life force; the coordination and cooperation of your physical, mental-emotional, and energy systems; and your willingness to take appropriate action steps to support improvement.
Dietary and lifestyle habits either support or interfere with optimal digestion, detoxification and elimination. To get at the root cause of your toxicity, you will want to address the congestion in your lymph system. Implementing a Nutrition & Wellness Plan along with detoxification strategies will address the toxicity at a cellular level. Combining dietary changes with colonics at the same time will magnify your results and make them more permanent.
